- 💡 The 8-cylinder configuration has the best vibration behaviour – exhaust gas temperature spread should be particularly even. The S variant with a 2400 mm stroke is more compact than the G variant (2790 mm) and allows higher speeds.
- 💡 The HP compressor is the most critical component in the FGSS. At 600 mm bore, piston withdrawal on board is possible – this significantly simplifies maintenance planning compared to 800/900 mm engines.
- 💡 Methane is lighter than air – install gas detectors at the highest points of the engine room. Use BN25 cylinder oil in gas operation.
