The Miura SQ 10t/16bar is an oil-fired auxiliary boiler. It is normally installed in the engine room connected to feedwater, steam, fuel, combustion-air and exhaust systems. It is designed for independent production of steam when exhaust heat is unavailable or insufficient. In operation, a burner releases fuel heat into boiler pressure parts and water. Compared with neighbouring models, the relevant differences are steam capacity, pressure, burner fuel, heating-surface arrangement and controls; these must be confirmed from the installed documentation rather than inferred from the model designation alone. Service and survey attention should concentrate on burner/combustion, water level, pressure parts, water treatment, safety valves and interlocks.
