Aalborg D
The Alfa Laval S.p.A. Aalborg D is a fired marine boiler from the Aalborg D family. The Aalborg D is a D-type water-tube boiler intended to produce steam or hot water from an approved oil or gas firing system and is particularly associated with installations requiring substantial service-steam capacity. Its water-tube arrangement uses drums and generating tubes around the furnace so heat from combustion is transferred to circulating boiler water. On tankers and other steam-intensive vessels it can support cargo heating, tank cleaning, fuel heating and general ship services depending on the installed plant design. Compared with smaller auxiliary boilers, survey attention extends across burner performance, furnace condition, water circulation, tube integrity, refractory or membrane-wall condition and combustion safeguards. The exact firing equipment, fuel capability, capacity and approved working pressure of the installed Aalborg D must be taken from its nameplate and manufacturer documentation; refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.

Service & Maintenance
Inspect furnace, accessible membrane walls or tubes, gas passages, burner equipment and refractory areas for deposits, cracking, leakage and overheating. Check feedwater and boiler-water records and verify gauge glasses, level transmitters, low-water trips, flame safeguards, fuel shutoff valves, pressure controls and safety valves. Combustion condition should be assessed from flame appearance, exhaust condition and approved combustion measurements. Pressure-part thickness measurements, valve set points, burner adjustments and water limits must follow class and manufacturer documentation; refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.
