Aalborg-EH-100
The Alfa Laval S.p.A. Aalborg-EH-100 is an electrically heated marine boiler in the Aalborg EH model series represented in the supplied equipment library. It produces useful boiler heat without a fuel-fired burner by converting electrical energy directly into heat through the installed electric heating elements. On board, this type of unit can support steam or hot-water demand when electrical power is available and combustion is undesirable or unnecessary. It is normally installed as part of the ship's boiler-water, feedwater and distribution system together with the required controls, safety devices and electrical switchgear. The 100 suffix identifies this particular EH size; exact electrical load, evaporation or heating capacity, design pressure and physical dimensions must be taken from the manufacturer documentation for the installed model. Compared with a fired boiler, maintenance focus shifts from burner and fuel-system condition to heating elements, electrical insulation, contactors or power-control equipment, water quality and pressure-system integrity.

Service & Maintenance
Inspect electrical heating elements and terminal boxes for overheating, loose connections, contamination and insulation deterioration. Verify protective earthing, insulation monitoring and electrical safety devices in accordance with the vessel's procedures. Check water level controls, feedwater system, pressure and temperature instruments, safety valves and alarms. Inspect the boiler shell, flanges, manholes and accessible internal surfaces for corrosion, scale and deposits. Review water-treatment records and investigate abnormal make-up-water demand. Refer to manufacturer documentation for exact electrical test values, element replacement procedures, pressure tests and operating limits.
