Cable surface and insulation: damage, moisture, aging

Inspect entire accessible cable length for visible damage, discoloration, cracks, detached insulation. Check cable supports, fasteners and corrosion. Inspect cable entries into equipment for proper sealing and strain relief. Detect moisture ingress into cables (swelling, water marks). Check cable routing for permissible bend radii, overload and kinks. Do not undercut bend radius; cut back loose or damaged insulation and reconnect.
