The RWO Veolia ST-5 is a 15 ppm oily water separator. It is normally installed in the engine-room bilge-treatment area with feed pump, oil-content monitor and discharge/recirculation valves. It is designed for treatment of machinery-space bilge water before any permitted overboard discharge. In operation, separation/coalescence/filtration stages remove oil before monitored discharge. Compared with neighbouring models, the relevant differences are treatment capacity, separation stages, consumables, monitor and control configuration; these must be confirmed from the installed documentation rather than inferred from the model designation alone. Service and survey attention should concentrate on separator condition, coalescers/filters, oil-content monitor, stop/recirculation valve, piping integrity and records.
