Background
The 10RTA96C-B is the further developed version of the world's most powerful marine diesel engine. The B variant (improved) offers optimized combustion with higher thermal efficiency compared to the base engine, improved piston rings and liner geometry for reduced wear, and optimized pulse lubrication with improved quantity control. The stroke-bore ratio remains identical at 2.604:1. VIT and CLU concept were retained, however with improved components. The gear-driven camshaft was optimized for reduced torsional vibration.
