Standard 22 / Horizon Gyrocompass

Raytheon Anschütz Standard 22 is the most widely distributed gyrocompass on ocean-going vessels worldwide. Built since 1990 in various variants. The newer Horizon series uses fiber-optic gyroscope technology (FOG) without rotating mass — lower maintenance and less vibration-sensitive. Anschütz developed the first marine gyrocompass in 1908 and has dominated the market since then.
