Autochief 600

Propulsion control systems are crucial for ensuring safe and efficient operation of a vessel's engines. The AutoChief 600 propulsion control system is a complete control and safety system suitable for use with a range of 2 and 4 stroke engines, encompassing both fixed and controllable pitch propellers. It can be configured for single or dual propulsion lines and features a modular design that allows for adaptation to various propulsion configurations. The AutoChief 600 system employs a distributed and fully redundant architecture, eliminating the need for an additional emergency telegraph system. The system includes a Digital Governor System, which offers both stand-alone and integrated functionalities. This system automates speed order inputs from multiple control positions and implements fuel limiter functions according to the specifications of major engine manufacturers. The AutoChief 600 also utilizes Distributed Processing Units installed directly in the junction boxes on the main engine. These units transmit signals to and from the engine via dual redundant CAN lines (bus on engine). Finally, the system incorporates an Engine Safety System, which provides a separate overspeed detection system and automatic engine shutdown capabilities. This system includes cancellable and non-cancellable shutdown functions, automatic slowdowns, and redundant RPM detection systems.
