The Kongsberg Maritime AS Safer Pennant Receiver Ahts is a safer pennant receiver system intended for anchor-handling vessels. It is installed at the stern working area of an AHTS and uses remotely operated capture hooks to receive and control the rig pennant wire without requiring a crew member to stand at the extreme aft end during the critical receiving operation. The receiver forms part of the vessel's anchor-handling deck-machinery arrangement and works together with the stern roller, winches and other handling equipment. Kongsberg describes the system as hydraulically operated and remotely controlled, with retractable hooks positioned to capture the pennant during transfer from the rig.
