Crew members on Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) rely on efficient cargo handling equipment to expedite the loading and unloading of supplies. Kongsberg Maritime offers the Cargo Rail Crane, designed to streamline these operations. This crane system features trolleys running along the PSV's cargo rails, enabling cargo to be hoisted onboard without the need for mobile shore cranes. Cargo can then be repositioned anywhere on deck, minimizing risk to the crew. The Cargo Rail Crane can be installed on one or both sides of the vessel, and it can handle cargo over the side or even over the stern if the PSV is moored stern-to-quay. The crane's dual draglink design provides a large operating work area, maximizing performance during loading and discharging. Safety is further enhanced by built-in features such as a load rotational stopper to eliminate sway motions and a telescopic hoist wire stabiliser to reduce the pendulum effect from free-hanging wires.
