AC70-MAX
The Alfa Laval S.p.A. AC70-MAX is a brazed plate heat exchanger from Alfa Laval's AC family. The AC product line is designed primarily for air-conditioning, refrigeration, chiller and heat-pump duties and can be used as an evaporator, condenser or in other approved refrigerant heat-transfer arrangements. Its brazed plate construction provides a compact, gasket-free heat-transfer core with alternating flow channels between the connected media. On board ship, such a unit would normally be found inside packaged HVAC, refrigeration or heat-pump equipment rather than as a general-purpose shell-and-tube engine-room cooler. The AC70 designation identifies the heat-exchanger size or geometry within the AC family, but the source list provides no plate count, connection size, refrigerant or duty data for this exact unit. The MAX suffix identifies a variant of the base model in this library, but the exact technical distinction from the non-MAX version must be verified from Alfa Laval documentation for the supplied configuration. Exact performance, pressure, temperature, refrigerant compatibility and installation limits must be taken from the unit drawing, nameplate and manufacturer documentation.

Service & Maintenance
Check inlet and outlet temperatures, pressure drop and system performance for signs of fouling or maldistribution. Inspect connections, supports and adjacent pipework for vibration loads, corrosion and leakage. Because the brazed core is not opened like a gasketed plate heat exchanger, cleaning and repair options depend on the contamination type and manufacturer-approved procedures. Verify refrigerant and fluid compatibility before chemical cleaning or changing service. Use the unit nameplate and Alfa Laval documentation for exact pressure, temperature, testing and installation limits.
