MAB-209-LubeOil
The Alfa Laval S.p.A. MAB-209-LubeOil is a solids-retaining disc-stack separator applied to lubricating-oil cleaning. It is normally connected to a main-engine, auxiliary-engine, turbine or machinery lubricating-oil system through a dedicated treatment loop or settling arrangement. Centrifugal separation removes suspended solids and, when the bowl is arranged for purification, free water from the lubricating oil. Continuous or periodic cleaning reduces the contaminant load carried back to bearings, journals and other lubricated machinery components. The MAB family is designed for manual removal of accumulated sludge and can be arranged for clarification or purification. The MAB-209-LubeOil is identified in the library specifically for lubricating-oil duty, so its process setup should not be assumed to match a fuel-oil variant with the same basic separator designation. Exact oil compatibility, capacity, temperature, bowl setup and maintenance limits must be confirmed in the manufacturer documentation.

Service & Maintenance
Inspect retained sludge for abnormal metallic particles or other debris that may indicate wear elsewhere in the machinery system. Clean the bowl, disc stack and passages and check for corrosion, erosion or damage. Verify bowl assembly, spindle condition, bearings, drive components, seals and any discharge or operating-water system fitted to the separator. Check cleaned-oil condition and separator vibration after reassembly. Use the exact manufacturer manual for wear limits, service intervals, assembly values and operating settings.
