MAB-103-LubeOil by Alfa Laval S.p.A. is a high-speed centrifugal separator used to remove contamination from marine fuel or lubricating oil. It is normally installed in the purifier room or machinery space together with feed, heating where required, clean-oil discharge and sludge-handling arrangements. It belongs to Alfa Laval's MAB solids-retaining separator family, in which separated solids remain in the bowl until the machine is stopped and cleaned. This LubeOil variant is configured for lubricating-oil cleaning, removing water and fine solids so the oil can remain in service. Reliable separation depends on correct feed condition, bowl speed, clean internal passages and the correct bowl configuration for the oil being treated. Unlike self-cleaning separator platforms, the MAB design relies on manual bowl cleaning and is suited to duties where this operating concept is acceptable.
