MAB-208-HFO-Purifier

The Alfa Laval S.p.A. MAB-208-HFO-Purifier is a solids-retaining disc-stack separator configured for heavy fuel oil purification. It is normally installed in the engine-room fuel treatment plant between dirty-fuel storage or settling arrangements and the clean-fuel/service side. Its purpose is to use centrifugal separation to remove free water and suspended solids from the fuel before it reaches downstream fuel-system equipment. Heavy fuel oil normally requires suitable conditioning and heating before separation, while the exact inlet condition must follow the manufacturer documentation for the installed machine. The MAB family is designed for manual removal of accumulated sludge and can be arranged for clarification or purification. Compared with a clarifier version of the MAB-208, this purifier configuration is intended to separate a water phase as well as solids. Exact capacity, interface control, operating temperature, gravity-disc or equivalent setup, and other model-specific limits must be taken from the manufacturer documentation and nameplate.

Inspect spindle, bearings, drive train, seals and any operating-water or discharge mechanism fitted to the exact specification. Use the manufacturer manual for exact assembly sequence, wear limits, tightening values, process settings and service intervals.
