S936
S936 by Alfa Laval S.p.A. is a high-speed centrifugal separator used to remove contamination from marine fuel or lubricating oil. It is normally installed in the purifier room or machinery space together with feed, heating where required, clean-oil discharge and sludge-handling arrangements. It belongs to Alfa Laval's S-separator platform, which is intended for fuel- and lubricating-oil treatment and uses automatic process control to accommodate changes in oil conditions. This base model can be configured for a defined oil-treatment duty, and the installed purifier or clarifier arrangement must be verified from the bowl parts, piping and vessel documentation. Reliable separation depends on correct feed condition, bowl speed, clean internal passages and the correct bowl configuration for the oil being treated. Compared with the P platform, the S family is intended for applications where automatic adaptation to changing oil properties is valuable.

Service & Maintenance
Trend vibration, bearing condition, feed conditions, clean-oil quality and sludge-discharge behaviour. Clean the bowl and disc stack as required by condition and the maker's maintenance plan, inspecting seals, operating-water passages, locking parts and drive components. After overhaul, verify bowl assembly, free movement of the discharge mechanism and correct process configuration before putting the unit back on oil. Class or survey attention typically includes overspeed and safety functions, guarding, leakage, vibration records and maintenance traceability; refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.
