It is normally installed in the purifier room or machinery space together with feed, heating where required, clean-oil discharge and sludge-handling arrangements. It belongs to Alfa Laval's S-separator platform, which is intended for fuel- and lubricating-oil treatment and uses automatic process control to accommodate changes in oil conditions. This base model can be configured for a defined oil-treatment duty, and the installed purifier or clarifier arrangement must be verified from the bowl parts, piping and vessel documentation.
