KFF-20-D and KFF-30-D Diesel Fuel Filtration Systems (skid-mounted)

Check differential pressure across filter element(s) and compare against manufacturer-specified alarm/change-out threshold (typically 15-25 psid); replace elements when threshold is reached.

Inspect and test automatic switchover / changeover mechanism (duplex valve or handle) for smooth, leak-free operation under operating pressure; verify the standby side pressurizes correctly before cutover.

Drain and inspect automatic water drain valve (where fitted) and water collection bowl; verify no fuel carryover and that drain opens/closes fully.

Examine filter housing seals, O-rings, and cover/bowl threads for deterioration, swelling, or leakage; replace per manufacturer interval or at every element change.

Verify bypass valve integrity and set-point (e.g. 50 psid for Model 980/981 series): test opening pressure and confirm it closes fully to prevent unfiltered bypass flow.

Sample filtered fuel downstream and test for water content (ppm) and ISO cleanliness code to confirm filter is performing to specification (e.g. <100-130 ppm water, ISO 4406 target code).

Inspect and clean inlet Y-strainer / pre-filter basket (where fitted) to prevent coalescer element blinding; check mesh for tears or deformation.

Check all instrumentation (differential pressure gauges, sight glasses, pressure gauges, TELEFLO flow switches) for correct indication and calibration; replace faulty instruments promptly.
