The Volvo Penta D6-435 is designed with a focus on reliability and low maintenance requirements. This 6-cylinder diesel engine is equipped with a cast-iron cylinder block and head, integrated cylinder liners, and replaceable valve seats, contributing to its robustness. The hydraulically shifted reverse gear, coupled with a gear technology using bevel gears throughout the gear train, is designed to minimize engine noise and vibration levels, enhancing onboard comfort. The engine's high-efficiency after-cooler, minimal hose setup, and symmetrical design contribute to its compact size despite its large swept volume and high output. It features a common rail fuel injection system controlled by EVC (Electronic Vessel Control), a system that delivers outstanding torque during acceleration with minimal smoke.
