Perform gauge glass blow-through test weekly to verify accurate water level reading. Check for cracks, cloudiness or deposits on gauge glass. Ensure low water level cut-off is functional and responds to water level changes.

Test safety valve lift action at 3% above design working pressure. Verify valve resets properly and seals completely. Check for leakage, corrosion or deposits on valve seat. Replace leaking or stuck safety valves immediately.

Inspect furnace refractory minimum twice yearly for cracks, brick displacement, excessive soot deposits and erosion. Check burner atomizer tip for carbon buildup. Verify flame pattern and burner management system fault history.

Perform internal boiler inspection (water-side) for signs of corrosion, scale buildup, chemical deposits and oil contamination. Monitor feed water quality and perform regular blowdown to remove sediment. Test water chemistry parameters (pH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen).

Check fuel oil filters and strainers for contamination. Inspect fuel pump condition and measure fuel pressure at operating temperature. Verify atomizer tip spray pattern and cleanliness. Inspect all fuel lines for leaks, corrosion and proper support. Test burner ignition system and flame scanner operation.
