GD10-P00

The Simtronics GD10-P00 is an open-path gas detector. It is normally installed across a defined line of sight in an exposed hazardous/process area. It is designed for area monitoring for a gas cloud crossing the optical path. In operation, optical absorption is measured between transmitter and receiver across the protected path. The supplied entry gives no additional verified capacity, pressure, power or dimensional figure for this model. Compared with neighbouring models, the relevant differences are gas species, path length, optics, alignment method and controller integration; these must be confirmed from the installed documentation rather than inferred from the model designation alone. Service and survey attention should concentrate on alignment, lens cleanliness, obstruction, mounting rigidity, calibration/function test and alarm interface. For exact ratings, dimensions, tolerances, test limits and model-specific settings, refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.

Common failures & inspection points

Sensor drift, poisoning or end-of-life deterioration caused by age/contaminants, noticed as failed bump/calibration test or slow response
Sampling-path or optical obstruction caused by dirt, water, blocked filters or misalignment, noticed as flow/beam fault or reduced signal
Battery or power failure caused by age, charging or supply faults, noticed as shutdown or system fault
Alarm/output failure caused by sounder, relay, wiring or controller faults, noticed during functional testing
Housing, cable or environmental damage caused by impact, corrosion or water ingress, noticed as physical defects, intermittent signals or false alarms

Service & Maintenance

Perform manufacturer-approved bump, calibration or functional tests and verify the actual fitted gas/sensor configuration. Inspect sampling hoses/filters/pumps or optical paths as applicable, battery/power, alarms and controller interfaces. Confirm sensor locations remain suitable after vessel modifications and maintain valid calibration gas where required.
