TG-8500
Tokyo Keiki TG-8500 is a marine gyrocompass or electronic heading-reference unit. It is normally installed in the bridge electronics or navigation equipment space with heading outputs distributed to steering and navigation consumers. Its primary purpose is to provide a stabilized true-heading reference for navigation, radar, ECDIS, autopilot and other bridge systems. Compared with a magnetic compass, a gyrocompass does not depend on the Earth's magnetic field and requires electrical power, sensors and internal control electronics.
