The Volvo Penta D5‑GS (4LD5‑GS‑60Hz) is a compact 4‑cylinder, 120 kW marine diesel engine driving an integrated 114 kW generator set for shipboard electrical power at 60 Hz. As an Auxiliary Engine (Generator Set), it is normally installed in the engine room as a generator prime mover or other ship-service auxiliary engine. In that role, its primary purpose is to provide mechanical power for electrical generation or another auxiliary shipboard duty. Generator-set versions are integrated with an alternator and electrical protection, while standalone auxiliary engines may drive other machinery; both use the same core diesel support systems. For exact ratings, dimensions, settings, capacities, materials and variant-specific limits, refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.

Free of charge — send us your request for Volvo Penta equipment. Our team checks it and replies by e-mail.

Makers and authorised dealers rarely quote marine equipment without the vessel. With these details we can check availability and prices faster; without them we may have to ask first, which can cost a few days. If you cannot share the vessel, a photo of the equipment’s rating plate does the same job — attach it below or send it as a reply to our confirmation e-mail.
