The AvK SEG DIG 1600 kVA is a 4‑pole marine synchronous generator delivering 1600 kVA at 400 V, 50 Hz, housed in an IP23 enclosure with Class H insulation for high temperature operation. As an Alternator, it is normally installed in the engine room or generator space, mechanically coupled to a diesel engine, turbine, shaft drive or other prime mover. In that role, its primary purpose is to convert mechanical power into three-phase electrical power for the shipboard distribution system.
