Kongsberg Maritime's cylinder liner monitoring system monitors the piston running performance by measuring the temperature of the upper part of the cylinder liners. Increased friction between the piston rings and the cylinder liner creates an elevated temperature level leading to abnormal liner wear and potential piston ring breakage.
