Liebherr LHM Mobile Harbour Crane Series
Enhance port productivity with Liebherr mobile harbour cranes – powerful, flexible and ready for all cargo types ✔️ Electric drive available. Discover now! Redefining mobility: power, precision, and flexibility for every port. Liebherr’s range of mobile harbour cranes (LHM) is extremely versatile making it an universal all-rounder. The LHM is a key asset for handling all types of cargo from containers to bulk commodities, general cargo and even heavy lifts up to 308 tonnes at 18 metres outreach and up to 100 tonnes at 47 metres outreach. The product range covers all vessel sizes up to megamax and capesize. Liebherr has been a pioneer in low- and zero-exhaust-emission technologies for over a quarter century. Our mobile harbour cranes, when equipped with electric drives, are locally emission-free, provided the necessary infrastructure is in place. This not only reduces emissions but also leads to lower operating costs. Hybrid drives are a standard part of our mobile harbour crane portfolio, allowing a variety of port infrastructures to be accommodated.

Common failures & inspection points
Visual daily inspection per ISO 4309:2017; caliper for diameter; magnetic inductive inspection (MRI) for suspected internal damage; inspection points: drum anchorage, loading, deflection over sheaves, loaded rope sections
Visual inspection for lubricant leakage; check seals for wear and contamination; vibration and temperature monitoring; overhaul by qualified Liebherr service with specialized equipment if needed
Drucktest (Pressure Test) gegen spezifizierte Solldrücke; Sichtprüfung auf Flüssigkeitsverluste; Ölprobenanalyse (Condition Monitoring); Funktionsprüfung aller Hubfunktionen (Heben, Schwenken, Luffing)
Visual surface inspection for surface cracks and deformation; NDT inspection (X-ray/MRI) at critical hooks for internal damage; load test: ~25% above rated load capacity; inspection of hook locking and wear marks
Surface rust and corrosion by visual inspection; NDT inspection (ultrasonic, X-ray) at critical welds; dimensional check of geometric tolerances; overhaul by Service Centre Steel with welding/structural analysis if required
Visual inspection of all electrical connections for corrosion in saltwater environment; functional test of overload protection and indicators; continuity test of critical circuits; lithium battery/accumulator condition check on electro-hydraulic systems
