Common issues
- Gelcoat crazing and UV degradation on exposed topside surfaces
- Osmotic blistering below the waterline on GRP hulls where lamination or barrier coating is inadequate
- Corrosion or seizure of through-hull fittings and seacocks
- Deck fitting and stanchion base leaks allowing water into a cored deck laminate
- Electrolytic corrosion of underwater metal fittings where bonding or anodes are neglected
Inspection checklist
- Visual survey of the hull below the waterline for blistering, cracking or impact damage
- Check all through-hull fittings and seacocks for free operation and corrosion
- Inspect the deck for soft spots indicating core delamination
- Verify sacrificial anodes are present and not fully wasted
- Check steering, control linkages and fittings appropriate to the craft's layout for wear
- Confirm the RCD/CE identification plate and hull identification number are legible and match documentation
Service intervals
| Sacrificial anode inspection | every 12 months, or sooner if wastage is visibly advanced |
| Out-of-water hull survey (blistering, through-hull fittings) | every 2-3 years, or per class/insurer requirement |
| Seacock/through-hull fitting exercise and grease | every 12 months |
Critical spares
- Sacrificial anodes of the correct size for the fitted through-hull metals
- Seacock/through-hull service kit (grease, valve seat where serviceable)
- Gelcoat or epoxy repair kit matching hull colour for minor damage
- Bilge pump and float switch appropriate to the craft's installed system
Safety
- Seacock or through-hull fitting failure below the waterline
- Loss of buoyancy or stability if hull damage or core saturation is not identified
- Fuel or gas system leaks in enclosed compartments on powered craft
Class survey
RCD (Recreational Craft Directive) approval confirms design category and construction compliance at build; it is not a periodic condition survey. The underlying hull material, propulsion and specific equipment fit are not established from the certificate reference alone - confirm against the builder's own specification and the vessel's documentation before basing maintenance decisions on this entry. Available data on this model is limited; entry deliberately kept brief rather than assuming details not confirmed.
