The Fassmer SEL 8.15 is a totally enclosed lifeboat 8.15 m long, rated for 37 persons and built to SOLAS Chapter III. It is stowed at the vessel's embarkation station on its launching appliance and serves as a collective survival craft for abandonment of the ship. The enclosed hull protects occupants from weather and spray, and the boat carries its own engine, starting battery and air support system.
