Inspection checklist
- Function-test the on-load release gear per the manufacturer's procedure and MSC.1/Circ.1206/Rev.1, without a free-fall launch unless the drill schedule requires it
- Inspect the release hook interlock/hydrostatic mechanism for corrosion and free movement
- Start the engine and check cooling water discharge, exhaust and control functions
- Check battery condition and the charging system
- Inspect the hull for cracks, delamination, and check ramp/skid condition
- Check seating, harnesses and restraint systems
- Verify the SOLAS emergency equipment inventory is complete onboard
- Inspect the davit/cradle release mechanism if the boat is also gravity-launchable
