INERGEN Inert Gas System
INERGEN (IG-541) is an inert gas extinguishing agent consisting of a mixture of nitrogen, argon and CO2. Unlike FM-200, INERGEN has no global warming potential (GWP 0) and is future-proof. Disadvantage: significantly more cylinder space required than with FM-200 or CO2. Increasingly specified for engine room extinguishing on newbuilds where space conditions permit.
