FM-200 (HFC-227ea) System
FM-200 (HFC-227ea) is the most common Halon 1301 replacement for special areas such as control rooms, server rooms and small engine rooms. Kidde/Carrier is the leading manufacturer. FM-200 is a clean extinguishing agent (leaves no residue), but a greenhouse gas (GWP 3220). The EU F-Gas Regulation increasingly restricts its use — successors: Novec 1230 or inert gases.
