Palfinger Marine (via Harding + Norsafe + TTS) is the world market leader for davits for lifeboats and rescue boats. Gravity davits lower the boat into the water by gravity — the fastest launch procedure. Single-arm davits for rescue boats and provision cranes are hydraulically operated. SOLAS requires that lifeboats and rescue boats can be lowered within specified time limits.
