Capstan Series
Capstan Series by Towimor (Poland) is a deck capstan intended for mooring and line-handling duties. The vertical warping head allows a rope to be surged, heaved or controlled while the operator manages the number of turns on the drum. The unit is normally mounted on an exposed deck with the drive, gearbox and associated electrical or hydraulic components protected below or within the deck machinery arrangement. The supplied record lists Pull 10-60 kN. Reliable operation depends on sound deck foundations, correct rope lead, effective braking or clutch functions where fitted, and protection against seawater ingress. Check gearbox lubricant condition and leakage, and service bearings and lubrication points in accordance with the maker instructions.
