Daikin is one of three major manufacturers of reefer container cooling units alongside Carrier and Thermo King. The Marine Container Reefer Unit uses scroll compressor technology for reliable operation in the temperature range of -30°C to +30°C. On container ships with several hundred reefer plug points, Daikin units are a common sight. Not to be confused with central ship AC — these are autonomous container cooling units.
