This crew evacuation and safety system utilizes a robust design to quickly and efficiently transport personnel from vessels to safety during emergencies. Developed by Palfinger Marine Safety AS, the MCB1100 is certified to carry a specific number of persons according to SOLAS regulations. This marine equipment has received DNV approval. To ensure optimal performance, weekly engine test runs lasting a minimum of 5 minutes are recommended. The release hook requires annual servicing by an approved service provider in accordance with SOLAS MSC.402(96). The GRP hull needs inspection at each docking, with a thorough examination scheduled every five years. Potential common failures include corrosion or blockage of the release hook mechanism, diesel engine start failures due to insufficient testing, osmotic blistering of the GRP hull, issues with the air supply system valve, and deterioration of safety harnesses and gear from UV exposure and weathering. Spare parts are available through Palfinger Marine Safety AS or authorized distribution partners, with lead times ranging from 2 to 6 weeks.

Makers and authorised dealers rarely quote marine equipment without the vessel.
