Replenishment At Sea

Replenishment At Sea by Kongsberg Maritime AS is an underway replenishment system for transferring fuel, stores or other naval logistics loads between ships at sea. The equipment is installed on exposed working decks and is integrated with winches, reels, tensioning devices, controls and transfer fittings appropriate to the delivered rig. During operation the system must control line geometry and transfer equipment while two vessels maintain a safe relative position underway. Mechanical integrity, emergency release capability, communications and clear operating procedures are critical because failures can rapidly overload hoses, wires or deck fittings. It is a complete logistics-transfer function rather than conventional anchor or mooring equipment.
