CP120
CP120 by Alfa Laval S.p.A. is a member of the Compabloc welded plate-and-block heat-exchanger range. Its core consists of corrugated heat-transfer plates welded to form alternating hot and cold flow channels inside an openable pressure casing. The construction is intended for compact process heating, cooling, condensing or heat-recovery duties where high thermal effectiveness and access for cleaning are important. On board it may be fitted in specialised fuel, chemical, waste-heat, refrigeration or process systems, depending on the vessel design and selected materials. Baffles and flow arrangement are configured for the required duty, so the exact number of passes and metallurgy must be taken from the unit data sheet. The CP 120 designation identifies its size within the Compabloc family; neighbouring CP models primarily provide different physical and thermal design envelopes rather than a different operating principle.

Service & Maintenance
Record temperatures, pressures and pressure drop on both sides so deterioration can be identified before capacity is lost. Inspect covers, nozzles, gaskets and accessible plate surfaces for fouling, corrosion or leakage and clean chemically or mechanically using methods approved for the installed materials. After any opening, use the correct gasket arrangement and tightening sequence and verify leak tightness before return to service. Class attention is normally on pressure-boundary condition, material and repair traceability, isolation and leak-test records; refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure.
