AlfaCond-400-150P by Alfa Laval S.p.A. is a plate surface condenser from the AlfaCond family, developed for condensing vapour under vacuum. Its heat-transfer section uses plate channels arranged so that vapour condenses on the welded side while cooling water passes through gasketed channels. On a vessel or floating process plant it would normally be installed as part of a vacuum, evaporation, recovery or other process-condensing system rather than as a general engine-cooling cooler. The asymmetric channel concept is intended to keep vapour-side pressure drop low while maintaining effective cooling-water turbulence. The frame construction allows access for inspection and cleaning, and the unit can be configured to suit the required condensing and optional subcooling duty.
