AlfaCond-400-60P
AlfaCond-400-60P by Alfa Laval S.p.A. is a plate surface condenser from the AlfaCond family, developed for condensing vapour under vacuum. Its heat-transfer section uses plate channels arranged so that vapour condenses on the welded side while cooling water passes through gasketed channels. On a vessel or floating process plant it would normally be installed as part of a vacuum, evaporation, recovery or other process-condensing system rather than as a general engine-cooling cooler. The asymmetric channel concept is intended to keep vapour-side pressure drop low while maintaining effective cooling-water turbulence. The frame construction allows access for inspection and cleaning, and the unit can be configured to suit the required condensing and optional subcooling duty. The 60P suffix identifies this configured variant within the AlfaCond-400 family; refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact plate arrangement and design duty.

Service & Maintenance
Trend inlet and outlet temperatures, pressure drop and vacuum performance against the vessel or plant baseline. Inspect the frame, plate-pack edges, nozzles and gaskets for leakage, corrosion and distortion, and clean the heat-transfer surfaces when performance indicates fouling. When opening the unit, keep plates aligned and record the closing dimension and plate sequence exactly as specified by Alfa Laval. For class or statutory survey, confirm pressure-boundary condition, leakage history, isolation arrangements and any required test records; refer to the manufacturer documentation for the exact figure and service procedure.
