Axial Flow Fan – HAZW / HAZQ (Adjustable Pitch)

Impeller blade condition: check for corrosion, erosion, pitting, or mechanical damage to aluminium alloy blades; verify blade pitch setting has not shifted (for adjustable-pitch types)

Bearing inspection: lubrication level and condition, bearing temperature under load, check for unusual noise or vibration indicating wear

Motor condition: insulation resistance (Megger test), winding temperature, terminal connections for tightness and corrosion, flameproof enclosure integrity (HHGP/HHGC types)

Non-sparking integrity (hazardous-area fans HHGP/HHGC): verify running clearance between impeller and casing, confirm no metal-to-metal contact risk, check aluminium alloy impeller for cracks or deformation

Casing and ductwork: inspect for corrosion (especially 10 mm marine-grade casings), check flexible connections and gaskets for deterioration, verify anti-vibration mounts are intact

Guide vanes and diffuser: inspect for fouling, scale build-up, or structural damage; clean as required to maintain aerodynamic performance

Drive arrangement: check motor-to-shaft coupling alignment, tighten any loose fasteners, inspect for oil or grease ingress into the airstream

Performance check: measure actual airflow against design duty (anemometer or Pitot tube), verify motor current draw is within nameplate rating, check for reverse rotation capability (ZerAx) if emergency smoke mode is required
