Visual inspection for kinks, deformation, rust streaks between wire layers. Discard criteria: any kinking, corrosion pitting, or diameter loss exceeding 7-10%

Visual inspection and ultrasonic thickness testing for corrosion-related section loss. Check anchor bolt preload and tightness. Inspect deck structure beneath crane for cracking, spalling, and weld quality. Magnetic particle testing (MPI) for welded connections. Assess pedestal bearing/raceway pitting and slewing ring tooth wear

Verify hydraulic oil grade and cleanliness per ISO 4413 and manufacturer specification. Inspect all hoses for leaks, kinks, and age-related brittleness. Check hydraulic pressure under load. Test pump displacement and motor flow rates. Verify seal integrity and replace per maintenance schedule. Ensure all components rated for offshore saltwater environment corrosion resistance

Test all limit switches (upper, lower, slew, load angle limits) under no-load and load conditions. Operate emergency stop button and confirm immediate crane shutdown. Measure brake engagement time and holding force under rated load. Check brake lining wear thickness. Verify failsafe braking engages on power loss. Test control response time for all functions (hoist, luff, slew, swing)

Visual inspection of all accessible pins for surface corrosion pitting, scoring, or bending. Check fastener preload in boom-to-pedestal and pedestal-to-deck connections using torque wrench. Inspect shear pins and pivot pins for wear marks. Look for evidence of fretting corrosion at pin interfaces. Measure fastener elongation in high-stress areas. Check Monel grease fitting condition and grease lubrication adequacy
