Inspect piston rings for wear, cracks, or scoring. Check valve plate surfaces for erosion, deposits, or surface degradation that could affect compression efficiency and seal integrity.

Examine oil level, color, and clarity via sight glass or dipstick. Check for dark discoloration, milky appearance, or particulate contamination indicating separator element failure or internal wear. Perform oil analysis for water and particulate content.

Verify correct alignment of rotary screw elements in compound systems. Inspect for excessive wear, scoring, or clearance degradation in both screw and piston compressor airends. Check bearing condition and shaft runout.

Verify current DNV type approval certificate validity and compliance with Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Check that marine product certificate is up-to-date and vessel classification society requirements are met for operation at 138-207 bar pressures.

Test pressure safety valves for correct set-point (138 bar normal, 207 bar cutout) and full flow capacity. Verify pressure regulator response and control precision. Check for any signs of valve leakage or improper lifting during no-load conditions.
