Visual inspection of impeller and casing interior surfaces for pittings, material loss, and surface roughness; check NPSH availability vs pump NPSHR at operating conditions; monitor suction strainer for blockages

Inspect seal faces for wear patterns, surface damage, and corrosion (especially duplex/super duplex SS in seawater); verify seal flush/cooling system functionality; monitor bearing temperature and lubricant condition

Measure shaft vibration at pump bearings (minimum monthly in service); check bearing temperatures (alert threshold typically >80°C for marine duty); verify coupling alignment with laser or dial indicators; monitor axial and radial clearances

Conduct underwater/submerged NDT inspection (ACFM, PEC, PAUT) for wall thinning on external piping; inspect internal passages via borescope for corrosion products and deposits; verify cathodic protection system (if installed); check material compatibility certificate for duplex/super duplex

Measure discharge pressure and flow at standardized speed/conditions; compare to performance curve baseline; perform ultrasonic thickness measurement on volute walls for erosion; inspect impeller vane tips for rounding/cavitation marks; verify geometric clearances with go-no-go gauges
