Ultrasonic thickness testing (UTT) at key locations (pedestal base, boom connections, deck mounting area); assess remaining steel thickness; identify sections with 10% or greater section loss; compare against original design specifications

Inspect hydraulic lines for cracks, corrosion, and leakage; check hydraulic fluid level and condition (contamination analysis); examine pump operation and pressure relief settings; test all hydraulic cylinders for smooth operation and load holding capability

Visual inspection of load chains for broken links, distortion, and corrosion; measure link dimensions for wear; inspect shackles, hooks, and rigging for cracks; conduct non-destructive testing (eddy current) on critical rigging components; verify compliance with applicable lifting standards

Verify current proof load test certificates (minimum bi-annual as per ISO 23415:2017); conduct dynamic load testing with test weights (minimum 5-minute suspended hang time); confirm load holding without drift; document test results against rated capacity; perform test at multiple reach positions
