Maintaining optimal performance is crucial for any smoke detection system, and the FireOPTIX-50M/100M from Hochiki ensures reliability through its automatic gain control feature, which compensates for gradual signal deterioration caused by dirt accumulation on the lenses. This reflective optical beam smoke detector comprises a single unit housing both the infra-red transmitter and receiver, analyzing the signal reflected back to detect smoke. The FireOPTIX-50M offers a coverage range of 16.4 to 164 feet (5 to 50 meters), while the FireOPTIX-100M extends this to 160 to 328 feet (50 to 100 meters) with the use of four reflectors. The detector operates on 10.2 to 30 VDC and features a weight of 1.5 lbs (0.68kg), with dimensions of 8.25” H x 4.5” D x 4.75”W (210mm H x 114.3mm D x 120mm W). It includes selectable alarm thresholds of 25%, 35%, or 50% and is IP50 rated. The system is designed to be easily set up and aligned, with a start-up time of 10 seconds and a reset time of 5 seconds maximum. The FireOPTIX-50M/100M is listed to UL 268 and complies with the California State Fire Marshal requirements.
