Smoke Detector · Fire Detection Systems
Marine crew members and engineers rely on reliable and efficient fire detection systems to ensure the safety and integrity of their vessels. Hochiki’s DSC-EA rate of rise thermal detector is a slim and visually appealing unit that provides a high standard of reliability and cost-effectiveness. Designed to operate in areas where temperatures can rise suddenly during a fire, the DSC-EA consumes no current in standby mode, allowing for an unlimited number of detectors to be connected on the same detection wires. This feature significantly reduces wiring costs and increases system flexibility. The detector features an air chamber with a diaphragm that expands when heated, triggering the alarm when the rate of temperature increase exceeds normal levels. Its compact dimensions (3.9” D x 1.3” H) and lightweight (3 oz.) make it easy to install and integrate with other Hochiki conventional detectors. The DSC-EA adheres to UL-521 standards and is suitable for most applications requiring heat detection, though it is not intended for life safety protection and should be installed with caution near heat-generating objects.
