Inspect all hydraulic lines, fittings, and seals for leaks, corrosion, and salt spray damage (marine environments). Check accumulator pressure and condition. Verify marine coating protection on hydraulic components per DIN 15018 H2/B3 or API 2C standards.

Examine wire rope for corrosion, broken strands, and fatigue. For constant-tension systems, verify CT winch operation. For AHC systems, validate heave compensation sensor calibration. Test shock absorbers on davit cranes (FRB Series). Check slewing ring unit bearings for wear and lubrication.

For stiff-boom cranes (SA/M1500/SA): inspect welds, gussets, and fatigue cracks on boom sections. For knuckle-boom cranes (EL, M1500/EL): verify pin joint torque, articulation smoothness, and bearing wear. For foldable cranes (FB): test fold mechanism hydraulics and locking pins.

Verify current certification from IACS members (ABS, LRS, GL, DNV, RINA, BV, CCS, RMRS). For rescue davits (RB/FRB Series), confirm IMO/SOLAS code compliance. Validate that AOPS/MOPS systems function properly and that wind speed indicators operate. Test slack rope detection systems.

For polar and arctic-rated cranes (M2000/EL, Polar Ship Crane, -40°C models): inspect materials for brittle fracture risk at low temperatures. Test hydraulic fluid viscosity and gearbox oil. Verify electrical equipment (IP 56 standard) for moisture ingress. Check paint coating integrity for proper marine/arctic protection.
