Internal inspection for tube corrosion, pitting, leaks, and blockages; stays/bolts checked for cracks and looseness; tube thickness verification via hammer test; minimum biennial internal inspections required by Class Society (DNV/Lloyd's)

At least biennial water-side internal inspection essential for boiler longevity; identify hard deposits blocking circulation, oxygen pitting at water line, and general corrosion; proper water treatment is the single most important determinant of safe operation

Annual external exam witnessing all safety system tests; verify low water cut-off response time; test flame failure shutdown; Relief valve set point verification per Class Society rules; all safety interlocks must function
