Measure bearing play/radial runout (limit 2-3mm for deck cranes per ABS); inspect roller/ball elements for spalling; check lubrication level and grease condition (color, contamination); verify bearing preload and locking mechanism engagement

Measure wire diameter at 10 locations per DNV-GL (reject if >3% wear); inspect for kinks, corrosion, bird-caging, broken strands; verify safe working load certificate matches nameplate; check pulley/sheave condition for wear grooves >2mm

Test load limiters at 125% rated SWL; verify anemometer function if wind speed cutout installed; confirm LMI (Load Moment Indicator) calibration within 12 months; check emergency stop circuits (e-stop buttons) for continuity and manual overrides
