Monitor pump operation for unusual vibrations and audible noise; perform vibration analysis to detect imbalances, misalignment, and bearing degradation; investigate any abnormal acoustic signatures

Monitor discharge pressure gauges for sudden drops; verify suction line is properly sized and free of restrictions; check for cavitation signatures (formation and collapse of vapor bubbles); perform hydrostatic pressure testing of pump and piping annually

Lubricate pump bearings through grease fitting every 500 operating hours; inspect grease condition and replenish lubricating oil in self-priming reservoir; verify proper bearing temperature during operation

Verify suction line design meets pump requirements and is free from restrictions; confirm adequate NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head) available; monitor for pressure fluctuations at inlet; inspect pump internals for erosion or pitting damage indicative of prior cavitation events
