Inspect all hydraulic hoses, cylinders, and seals for oil seepage, rust, or pitting. Check hydraulic fluid level and condition. Listen for unusual noises indicating pump wear. Verify pressure relief valve operation and pressure gauge readings against specifications.

Examine stainless steel construction (verify AISI 304/316 grade in salt-water environments), inspect electrical enclosure seals (IP54-67 rating required), check for salt spray damage on motors and controls, verify protective coating integrity on painted surfaces.

Test door/loading hatch interlocks - machine must not operate when open. Verify emergency stop button functionality and pressure release mechanisms. Check all safety placards and warning labels. Test automatic power cutoff when chamber is opened.

Visually inspect compaction plate for wear marks and surface damage. Check drum/compression chamber for dents, cracks, or obstruction. Test compaction ratio by measuring input/output volumes. Verify pressing force reaches specified tons (10-20 tons typical).

Verify motor voltage matches shipboard supply (220-690V capability). Check motor ground, phase order, and thermal overload protection settings. Test all push-button controls for proper operation. Confirm noise level does not exceed 65-78 dB specification.
